The whole world is going through a tough time due to coronavirus. And every one wants there life to get back on the track erstwhile. I am praying to God for the same and for everyone. Hopefully, we all will come out of this dreadful situation soon. In about two weeks, there is a schedule of international cricket match to begin between England and West Indies (Test series). For me as a cricket fan, this is a great news and vulnerable at the same time.
Why? Quite obvious... when you try to inspect the situation all around, do you really believe that this is the precise time to start cricket matches or any kind of event. Are the players really "primed"or "equipped" for the challenge of playing in such heavy conditions ? Or, they are pressurized by their respective cricket boards to play for the team?
Many questions and queries we have that could be raised and many were raised too.
We all know, like other industries cricketing world is also facing a big loss financially. But this doesn't mean that they will bet on someone's life. Conditions are not preferable anywhere in the world . There is a chatter of bio bubble for cricketers but the question is same. How do they manage it ? A cricketer, who is going to play cricket abroad, would certainly eats somewhere in the hotel and in this process he will meet new person. Also, In a test matches, drinks are mandatory and this is obvious that the players will gather at one place in drinks. Another thought that jumps up is that, cricket is a game of labour in which players sweat a lot and by habbit, a cricketer always wipes off his sweat by his hand and in the process what if he touches his mouth, nose face and all. After that the same player will field the ball or touch the ball or pass it to another player and many other setting that we could imagine .
Then what ? It is impossible to sanitize or fumigate the players after every ball . And above all cricket is a mental game where a player uses his mental strength to normalise the pressure. But when a player is concerned upon his own safety, will he able to give his 100% (percent) on field?? Few days ago, ten Pakistani cricketers tested positive for covid . What if any other player who will be playing in the match will test positive ? (though this is just a prior concern from my end). And above all, the players are not really ready as they haven't practised for so long (around 2 months). So, there concern and worry must be considered and taken into note before any further action from respective boards of that country. I believe, it is too early to start proceedings of international matches. We all are eagerly waiting to enjoy and look at the glimpse of our favourite players in cricket or other sports too . But as far as circumstances are unsettled or until it doesn't comes down to its path, we can't take the life of our favourite players and sports on edge.
Safety comes first and foremost. So, ICC or other boards (all through the country), have to wait for absolute accurate time to come up with a decision/conclusion and I am sure it will transpire soon.
