Nowadays the world is flaring up with a debate on Nepotism. Whether, it is film industry or any field, it has always been a point of debate. But when we talk about cricket we can't see nepotism in typical way, but when we take a look we shall find the so called nepotism in its smacks of favouritism. So my today's blog arises the question on FAVOURITISM. We all want to see our favourite player to play matches as a cricket fans but it is only possible when that particular player actually performs well and provide the team with what the team expected from him. Which is absolutely fine. But when a player doesn't perform well and continuous decline in his performance or he isn't giving the team which is expected from him for a long time. Still he finds a place in the squad, may be( possibly), a kinky favouritism stuff. A player can be selection committee's favourite, or he can be coaching staff's favourite or he can be captain's favourite. But if he only finds place in team due to favouritism then it is fretting(worrying) matter. The team always needs support of each and every player even the one who is sitting as a twelfth man. But when a particular player gets uneven opportunities whose performance is substandard and short to little in favour of his team mates and he doesn't satisfied the role given to him with spurn graph(going down) then it is totally futile to favouring. I agree sometimes team management does it to build confidence in some player by persisting with him for a long time whether he is performing or not, but we can't make it a practice. Because it is also demotivating the fellow players who are waiting for there's chance and to prove skills on the ground. It's not a justice with much talented players who are still searching for a opportunity in team. It can demoralise them and they will choose another path. This will be loss of real talent. And it's not only about one or two teams but in majority we'll find the smell of favouritism in some or other ways. Favouritism can harm not only team but the player itself because he will never improve himself or he will never take his game seriously because of the end result that's he know I will be the part of team whether I am performing or not. To improve someone it is right to support him but to a certain limit. Don't be limitless or to that extent that it goes against the spirit of the game. It will downcast the co-players as well as the newcomers, team management, supporting staffs and everyone including us as a fan. I am not blaming on someone personally and pointing anyone guilty of it. But this should be ceased considering it the utmost protection for cordial games.
Again repeating, I'm not targeting anyone personally or any form of game. It is my thoughts which I tried to put in brief because I consider me and my blog readers (Friends) to be diehard fan of cricket and we don't want any sort of misshapen with this united and friendly game.
